WHEN I WAS YOUNG I WANTED TO BECOME THE CIRCUS GIRL

Part of STONES BONES project, Video performance, One page book & Poetry card series

During the Grounding through Improvisation art residency I embraced site-specific creation inspired by the central theme of the programme. A key element of this process was the introduction of the 'Oracle Game', which provided an essential starting point. The game assigned specific locations, such as a mountain spot and the attic of a house, paired with qualities such as 'stone'. These prompts shaped my daily visits to the assigned places and formed the basis of my creative practice. Whether I was engaged in observational explorations, movement practices or recording thoughts, these rituals created a solid structure around which I built my work.

Over time I cultivated a deep connection with these places and my exploration resulted in a series of works: a video performance, a walking performance and a handmade poetry cards series.

WHEN I WAS YOUNG I WANTED TO BECOME THE CIRCUS GIRL, peripatetic performance / artist talk

Inspired by one of my favourite Greek poets, Matsi Hadjilazarou, who wrote: 'Η ποίησή μας είναι η ζωή / Our poetry is our life', on this mountain walk - in the beautiful mountain above the village of Rietz - I shared stories, thoughts, a little dance and some surprises.
